Cool down your interior and enjoy extra privacy on the road

Reduce The Heat and Add More Privacy

Tinting your windows is one of the best upgrades you can make to your vehicle. It adds privacy, helps block heat during hot days, and adds a level of protection that’s often overlooked. Hopefully this doesn’t happen, but window tint also helps reduce the chances of shattered glass spreading if a window breaks.

At Nook and Cranny Detailing, we’re all about high-quality service and long-term results. Our window tint installers are trained and skilled to deliver a clean, professional install that holds up over time. No bubbling. No peeling. No fading.

Our Window Tint Process

Window tinting takes more than just slapping on film. Every step matters, and we treat each vehicle like it’s our own. Here’s how we go about tinting your windows for a smooth and lasting finish:

Old Tint Removal (if needed)
If there’s already tint on the windows, we’ll start by removing it. Some tint peels right off, while older, baked-on film can take more time and effort. We make sure all adhesive residue is cleaned off completely.

Prepping the Glass
Next up is glass prep. We clean the windows inside and out to get rid of any dust, oils, or particles. This step is key to avoiding air bubbles or imperfections under the tint.

Precision Film Cutting and Shrinking
Once the glass is prepped, we cut the film to fit your windows exactly—either by hand or using a plotter. Then we shrink it to match the curve of the glass, so the film lays flat and looks factory installed.

Film Application
The film is then applied with care, making sure no debris gets trapped and that it fits every edge properly. Some windows are more complex than others, but no matter the shape or size, we make sure it’s installed properly.

Final Check
After the tint is installed, we inspect every panel closely. If anything seems off, we’ll remove the film and start fresh. Your satisfaction always comes first.

Tinting adds more than just function. A clean tint job gives your vehicle a modern, high-end look. It can really change the overall appearance of your vehicle.

Different Types of Window Tint

Dyed Film: This entry-level option adds more privacy but offers little to no heat rejection. Great if you’re just after looks.

Carbon Film: This is a step above dyed film where it starts to introduce some level of heat rejection but nowhere near as much as ceramic. It’s a happy middle step for heat rejection but keeping budget in mind.

Ceramic Film: This offers premium heat rejection, along with that sleek look and extra privacy. It’s the go-to choice for anyone trying to stay cool and keep their interior protected.

Why Window Tinting is Worth It

Keeps Your Car Cooler: If the heat inside your car feels like an oven, ceramic tint is the fix. It blocks a significant amount of the sun’s heat so your interior stays cooler, and your AC doesn’t have to work as hard.

Boosts Privacy: Without tint, it’s easy for people to look into your vehicle—whether it’s while you’re parked or out on the road. Window tint keeps things more private and helps hide valuables when your car’s left unattended.

Enhances the Look: Tinted windows just look better. They give your car a cleaner, more finished appearance.

Adds Safety: In case of a window breaking, tint film can help keep the glass from shattering all over the place. It’s an extra layer of protection that comes in handy when you least expect it.

Makes The Drive More Comfortable: Whether it’s you, your kids, guests, or even your pets, with ceramic tint, everyone in the car will have a more enjoyable ride since they won’t have to manage the heat the entire ride.

Get Professional Tinting in Santa Rosa

Window tint should last for years when it’s done right. The material is just as important as the installation. At Nook and Cranny, we use top-quality films and take the time to do the job right from the start.

We’ve seen what happens when low-quality tint is used—bubbles, fading, and peeling after just a year or two. Even if it looks good at first, cheap film won’t hold up for the long-haul.

We take our time, focus on the details, and always prioritize quality. If we’re not happy with how the tint looks, we redo it. Simple as that.

Full-Service Interior and Exterior Mobile Detailing

We offer a range of detailing services to keep your car in top shape:

Paint Correction: Bring back the shine to your paint with paint correction. We use a combo of pads, compounds, and polishers to remove swirl marks, minor scratches, and oxidation. Depending on the package, we can eliminate 60% to 90% of imperfections and make your paint look like new again.

Ceramic Coating: Tired of constantly waxing your car? A ceramic coating adds a long-term, protective layer that makes your paint glossy and super easy to clean. While wax might last a couple of months, a ceramic coating can last for years when maintained properly.

Swirl-Free Hand Wash: Our wash service gets rid of dirt and grime without scratching your paint. Perfect if you want to maintain your car between details or keep your work vehicle looking fresh.

Wash and Wax: This is our go-to for seasonal protection. We start with a wash, then clay bar the paint to remove stuck-on debris. After that, we apply a quality wax or sealant that protects for up to six months.

Interior Deep Cleaning: Does your interior need a deep cleaning? We shampoo carpets and seats, clean leather and plastic surfaces, and bring everything back to a fresh, like-new condition.

Paint Protection Film (PPF): Looking for the best way to shield your paint? PPF is a clear film that guards against rock chips, scratches, and everyday wear. It’s the ultimate choice to protect your paint.

RV Detailing: We detail RVs too—interior and exterior. It’s a bit different from a car, since the inside is more like a home, but we’ve got everything needed to keep your RV road-trip ready.

We’re based in Santa Rosa, and we’re mobile across Sonoma County—including Windsor, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Novato, and surrounding areas.

Window Tint FAQs

Can you tint windshields?
Yes, we can tint windshields. Since it’s the largest window on most vehicles, it lets in a lot of heat. We recommend a light ceramic tint like 70 percent, so you get the heat-rejection benefits without darkening the view too much.

What’s the difference between dyed and ceramic tint?
Dyed tint offers privacy and changes the look of your car but doesn’t block heat. Ceramic tint does both—it provides excellent heat rejection and gives your car that sleek, tinted look.

How long should I wait before rolling down my windows?
After getting your windows tinted, it’s best to wait at least 24 hours before rolling them down. This gives the film time to bond with the glass. If it’s colder out, we suggest waiting closer to 48 hours to make sure it cures properly.
