Santa Rosa’s Trusted Paint Correction Specialists

Paint correction is a great option to restore your car’s paint. This service removes scratches, swirl marks, water spots, and other imperfections by using a combination of polishers, pads, and compounds, leaving your car with a glossy finish. It’ll look better than the day you got it. You can also choose to get the paint ceramic coated which would add another layer of gloss and years of protection.

Different Tiers of Paint Correction

There’s different levels of paint correction based on the condition of your vehicle, the results you want to get, and how much time you want us to spend on it.

If you’re getting ready to sell your vehicle and want to freshen the paint and clean up the interior for the photos, we could do a Paint Enhancement to make the paint pop in a short amount of time. Or if you want to get your car to the best condition that it can, we can do a two-step correction to remove 80% or more of the imperfections. We have three main types to choose from:

Paint Enhancement: The goal with this is not to remove the most amount of swirls and imperfections, but just to give the paint a boost of gloss. It’ll clean up the paint from any stains, blemishes, or light swirls. This service only takes a few hours and is great to give your car once a year. We can also do this level of detailing for your RV.

1-Step Polish: The goal with this type of correction is to remove between 50% to 70% of the swirls and imperfections. This is highly dependent on the condition of your paint and the type of clear coat you have. You’ll start to see a real noticeable difference at this level.

2-Step Paint Correction: This is to remove the 80% or more of the swirls and imperfections in your paint. You’ll see the biggest difference with this service. It’ll also take the longest due to the amount of work that’s required to get the desired results.

If you want to keep your paint in prime condition for years, paint protection film is the best option for long-term protection. And if none of these fit what you’re looking for and need a more simple service, we also have a Wash or Wash and Wax.

Why To Hire a Professional Paint Correction Expert in Santa Rosa

When done right, paint correction can completely change the way your vehicle looks. It can go from dull and faded looking to very glossy and reflective under the sun. You can make your car look like-new and younger strictly by making the paint swirl-free.

On the other hand, you can damage your paint and vehicle when improperly done. If you use a rotary with a wool pad with the wrong technique, you can create holograms in the paint. This makes your paint look very hazy and unflattering in the light. But an even bigger problem that can happen is you burn through your clear coat causing permanent damage. This happens when you hold the polisher in one place for too long, causing it to heat up a specific part of the panel, and you burn through the clear coat. The only resolution is to get the panel resprayed.

Another common error that’s made is polishing the front and rear bumpers. Typically, those are plastic, and if you’re not careful, you can not only burn through the clear coat, but tear off the plastic and mess up the bumper.

Paint correction isn’t an overcomplicated thing to do. But it does require proper skill, time, and effort to do right. And that’s what we focus on when we’re working on our customer’s vehicles.

We use a paint thickness gauge to measure how much clear coat we’re working with on a vehicle. We’ll then do multiple test spots on the paint to determine what the best course of action is to deliver the results you want while not compromising the clear coat.

Paint Correction FAQs

Does my car need paint correction?
Paint correction is ideal for people who want to remove those pesky swirls and scratches from their paint to bring out the gloss and clarity. If your car’s paint has scratches, swirl marks, or dull paint, this service is for you.

Does paint correction remove all the scratches from my car?
It all depends on how deep some of those scratches or imperfections are. If you have a key scratch, for example, and it went through all three layers of your paint and it got down to the bare metal, then no, paint correction wouldn’t remove 100% of that scratch. At a minimum, we would be able to reduce the visibility of the scratch.

Is paint correction better than repainting my car?
If your paint is dull, oxidized, or heavily swirled, then yes, paint correction can restore it and bring back the gloss and clarity. This would save you a trip to the paint shop and save you money. Customers are really blown away at the results that we can get them with paint correction.

Does paint correction fill in my paint chips?
If you have rock chips, the best way to fix that is by touch-up paint or if it’s severe, repainting the panel. Paint correction is focused on removing swirls from your paint (the clear coat). Once your paint is chipped, polishing doesn’t do much for that affected area.

How long does it last after I get my car polished?
The key part to keeping your car swirl-free and glossy is by how you maintain it. This comes down to properly washing and drying your vehicle at least once a month if possible. We can spend 20 hours polishing your car, but if you use low quality wash mitts and drying towels with the wrong techniques, then you’ll just add all the swirls back into the paint. That’s not what we want.

After my car gets polished, how do I keep it looking in new condition?
The goal of keeping your car looking shiny and swirl-free is the maintenance and how you take care of it. Proper washing and drying are key for long-lasting results. Whether you do it yourself or you hire someone to do it, you want to use quality wash mitts, soaps, and drying towels for a swirl-free wash. If you use low quality wash mitts or towels with harsh soaps, scratch and swirl your paint quickly, undoing all the hard work.
